Sandbag Breathing
For today’s yoga exercise, you will need a 6-10 pound bag of rice or sand. Sandbag breathing is a breathing exercise to train your abdominal muscles and diaphragm. Practicing sandbag breathing for 5-10 minutes per day for about 3 weeks will help you establish a good breath flow for yoga practice and for relaxation and restoration. Breathing deeply, with focus and intention, helps to reset your nervous system. It brings calm and relaxation to your body, and also help center and ground you. Breathing deeply with intention and focus can clear your mind to help you make decisions.
